Why should doctors use BPAro?

Introduction

The BPAro 24-hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor (ABPM) has undergone extensive clinical validation, provides outstanding performance for practitioners, and is user-friendly for patients BPAro is precise, portable, and measures blood pressure (BP) and real-time arterial pulse wave data.

BPAro’s monitoring system with arterial pulse wave analysis is the first ABPM to arrive at the medical device market at its competitive price point. Traditional ABPM devices lack the features and comfortability that BPAro provides to our patients; hence, our arm cuffs are cone-shaped for maximum comfort.

Patients wearing the BPAro system can easily participate in their daily life, allowing for an increased understanding of their blood pressure fluctuations across 24 hours.

Visiting the doctor can be a stressful experience.

Many people avoid going to the doctor’s office. The visit alone can be stressful enough, but when measurements are taken, stress may increase. This stress can produce false blood pressure results. However, these single-point measurements often do not indicate what the patient regularly experiences. A single measure cannot monitor if your blood pressure suddenly rises or falls at work or spikes in the middle of the night. Using ABPM, doctors get to see the “full picture” – the changes in blood pressure across time. BPAro helps considerably speed up appropriate diagnosis and treatment.

Significance of ABPM:

A single reading at home or in a clinic cannot accurately represent an individual’s blood pressure. ABPM continuously monitors an individual’s blood pressure over 24 hours, typically in 20 or 30-minute intervals. Thus providing an incredibly detailed set of data for the reviewing physician.

Our natural human circadian rhythm (sleep-wake cycle) impacts our blood pressure levels. Blood pressure should drop throughout the night and rise to normal levels early in the morning before waking. However, some individuals may experience nocturnal hypertension, a rise in blood pressure throughout the night when sleeping. Other scenarios include a diminished nocturnal pressure dip or an exaggerated morning surge in pressure. Unfortunately, disruptions to our circadian rhythm cycles are linked to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.

According to a popular study ,

  • When it comes to forecasting cardiovascular mortality, ABPM is superior to spot (single) blood pressure monitoring.
  • An ABPM should be performed on anyone who has increased blood pressure as it is essential to the management of hypertension.
  • Physicians should focus on monitoring of night time blood pressure more often.  Benefits to the Patient:
  • BPAro provides a detailed report including waveform analysis, CASP measurements, and patterns of blood pressure across time.
  • Our monitoring system is easy-to-use and comfortable to wear.
  • Monitors blood pressure while you sleep without manual effort.
  • BPAro does not require you to stop participating in routine activities.

Healthcare Service Providers:

Healthcare service providers can see the auto-generated patient blood pressure reports from the 24-hour ABPM through our secure web portal or app.

Doctors:

Patient data is easily accessible and quickly transferred from the device to the app, allowing for accurate diagnoses, management and treatment.

Clinical Benefits:

  • BPAro provides a complete hypertensive diagnosis.
  • Greater adherence, particularly from obese and older patients, due to the comfortability of our product and our automatic measurements at programmable interval settings.
  • Patient BP data is securely stored and historical ABPM records can be checked at any time.
  • Better data equals better results. BPAro can improve patient’s outcomes by providing efficient and comprehensive data.

Why measure blood pressure?

High blood pressure can contribute to heart attack, heart failure, kidney disease, and other illnesses. It is crucial to ensure that BP is monitored and managed appropriately to reduce the risk of adverse outcomes.

What is the average blood pressure when using an ABPM?

Using a home blood pressure monitoring (HBPM) device, a normal blood pressure reading of 120 mmHg (systolic) over 80 mmHg (diastolic) is considered normal. However, with an ABPM, the values and ranges differ as measurements are averaged across time. There are also different ranges for normal average BP during active and sleeping hours.

What happens next?

If your blood pressure is found to be out of the normal range, your doctor will recommend treatment. This treatment may include medication, nutrition, exercise or other wellness measures. Repeating the ABPM in the future may also be requested to ensure that the treatments adequately control your blood pressure.
